The Betel Home Foundation Board of Directors established a Fundraising Committee in early 2024, with the goal of raising funds to provide much needed enhancements for the residents of both Betel Gimli and Selkirk sites. We are pleased to announce that we have developed a strategy to raise funds on an annual basis to serve the of our residents. The Resident Quality of Life Enhancement Fund will provide funding for specific resident needs at both sites, with monies raised through both fundraising and direct donation. Each year, in consultation with Betel administrative staff, the Fundraising committee will identify which enhancements are in most need and will be identified as the focus of that years Resident Quality of Life Campaign.

This year, the committee has determined that the Resident Quality of Life Enhancement Fund will focus on funding the upgrades and renovations to the tub rooms at both Betel Gimli and Selkirk. Our current Warmth, Dignity and Bubbles Campaign has been underway since the summer and will include the purchase of new tubs, tub chairs, and renovations to create a more functional space, improve lighting and ambiance in these areas. Our hope is for our new spaces to feel comfortable and as much like home as possible for Residents of all cognitive and physical abilities.

Our current estimate of the tub room project is $275,000

We are planning to purchase a minimum of one new tub for each site that will include hydromassage, hydrosound and music and lighting multi-sensory features that are designed to help enhance the therapeutic benefits of the bathing experience. The cost of each tub is $60,000. If we are able to exceed our fundraising goal, we would plan to purchase additional tubs.
