Recreation Services

Betel Home offers a wide variety of recreational programming and activities to improve and nurture our Resident’s holistic quality of life. One full time and two part time staff in conjunction with a full time coordinator, in each facility work together with a vast volunteer base to provide ample opportunities for Residents to socialize, get active, be stimulated, and most of all enjoy themselves. We work around four basic areas of need for our programming: cognitive, social, physical, and emotional. In each of these areas we strive to offer a choice of activities that appeal to every cultural background, ethnicity, and spiritual following taking into account the varying capabilities of the people we serve. In a diverse world we are always doing our part to be fluid and provide new and exciting things for each and every person who calls Betel their Home.

Samples of our regularly scheduled programs include:

  • “Bend & Stretch” Chair Exercises

  • Linen Folding

  • Craft Group

  • Garden Group

  • Fishing at the Dock

  • “Down Memory Lane” Quiz

  • Musical Entertainment

  • Happy Hour

  • Bingo

  • News & Views Discussion Group

  • “Body Works” 1-on-1 Exercises

As well as many intergenerational and seasonal activities and performances from local groups who volunteer their time to us (school groups, choirs, comedic theatre, etc.). There is truly something for everyone and we always make Resident satisfaction our first priority in everything we do.

“Recreation’s purpose is not to kill time, but to make life; not to keep a person occupied, but to keep them refreshed; not to offer an escape from life, but to provide a discovery of life.”
