                  The Betel Home Foundation
was founded by a small group of Lutheran women who "dreamed a dream". Through their efforts the first Betel home opened it's doors to nine residents on March 1, 1915 in rented quarters at 354 William Avenue, Winnipeg.

Later in 1915 the "Home" was moved to permanent quarters in Gimli and over the years the home has been added to until it housed 95 residents. In 1990, Betel Home moved into a new 80 bed facility on the same site. During the late 1950's and early 60's, the need for a second home was realized and a new facility was opened in Selkirk in 1966. An expansion program in 1970 added to this building and it is also Home for 92 residents.
